Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
With the Charter of Fundamental Rights, the European Union has put human dignity first and reaffirms the civil, personal, economic, political and social rights and human rights of citizens living in the European Union, while respecting the competences and responsibilities of each individual Member State. In Germany, most of the fundamental rights contained in the Charter are enshrined in the Basic Law. These include, for example, Article 1 "Human dignity", Article 21 "Non-discrimination", Article 23 "Equality between men and women" and Article 26 "Integration of people with disabilities".
The implementation of the Charter of Fundamental Rights of the European Union and the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities is a fundamental prerequisite for the funding of projects by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Just Transition Fund (JTF).
