The ERDF/JTF program in North Rhine-Westphalia comprises the following procedures, which differ in terms of the selection process:

  • Competitions and calls: The selection of projects for funding is usually carried out via competitions and calls. For this purpose, applicants submit project outlines (only for a two-stage selection procedure) and applications (for one- and two-stage selection procedures), which are reviewed and evaluated by a review committee based on transparent criteria.
  • Guideline funding: This procedure follows the first-come-first-serve principle. If applicants meet the requirements of the respective funding guideline, they receive approval, provided sufficient budget funds are available.
