Start-up Transfer.NRW
From the university or research institution to the market - with the "Start-up Transfer.NRW" funding program, the state of NRW supports start-ups. The focus is on innovative services, technology-oriented start-up projects as well as social and ecological start-ups.
Knowledge-based, innovative companies create sustainable jobs and training positions, contribute to structural change through the transfer of know-how from research to practice and thus sustainably improve the competitiveness of North Rhine-Westphalia. Through the commercial use of new ideas, innovative processes, services and technologies, start-ups from universities and research institutions can contribute to mastering the economic, social and ecological challenges of our time and ensuring people's quality of life.
The aim of the funding offer is to support founders on their highly uncertain path from basic research to market-oriented research and development through to the founding of a company. The "Start-up Transfer.NRW" funding offer forms a bridge from the university or research institution to the market and strengthens the regional start-up ecosystem by increasing start-up activities at universities and non-university research institutions throughout North Rhine-Westphalia. The funding approach is intended to mobilize the start-up potential at NRW universities and research institutions across the board. The focus is on "knowledge-intensive start-ups" - this includes innovative services, but also technology-oriented start-up projects.
The projects to be funded should be convincing with viable business models. The funding program aims to advance the development of services, products or processes to market maturity and to further develop the business plan for the subsequent start-up and growth phase. An important element of this is the support provided to the founders by coaches with industry experience, who help them to build up business expertise and access the market.
